Vision:

The Saudi Respiratory Care Chapter aims to be the frontrunner of the respiratory care profession in Saudi Arabia under the Saudi Critical Care Society's umbrella.

Mission:

The Saudi Respiratory Care Chapter is obligated to promote the respiratory care profession and support the profession's continuity & development in Saudi Arabia to the highest national & international standards.

Objectives:

  • Raise the awareness & understanding of health care services stockholders and providers of respiratory care practitioners' value in providing evidence-based, competent & safe patient care.
  • Sharing and passing knowledge and experience to the new generation of respiratory care practitioners.
  • Assist the development & standardization of the respiratory care profession in Saudi Arabia in meeting the highest evidence-based practices.
  • Provide well-structured & highly organized respiratory care clinical education & training to healthcare practitioners in Saudi Arabia.
  • Organize scientific meetings, symposiums & conferences to promote the latest update in the field of respiratory care.
  • Promote & raise the community understanding of cardiopulmonary disease & encourage healthy behaviors

Head of the Saudi Respiratory Care Chapter:

Mr. Ahmed Al Gahtani, BSRC, RRT. Acting Chief, Pediatric Respiratory Care Division, PSMMC, Riyadh

Mr. Ahmed is a Senior Respiratory Care Practitioner with more than 12 years of experience in respiratory care nationally & abroad, covering all clinical and academic aspects of the profession. Mr. Ahmed has a bachelor's degree in respiratory care science with honor from Loma Linda University.

Currently, Mr. Ahmed is the acting chief of the pediatric respiratory care division at PMMC, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

During his critical respiratory care career, he was involved in all aspects of the respiratory care profession on the clinical, academic, and administrative levels. He also participated as a scientific committee member, track chairman, and invited speaker in over ten national and international conferences.

He has a particular interest in quality respiratory care and patient safety and is a member of many international and local societies.
